Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) users to gather project requirements/ specifications and transform it into requirement document. Use Software Development Lifecycle methodologies to implement projects. – 5%
  • Create multiple OBIEE reports/dashboards/BI Publisher reports/visualization charts based on Bridges, Traffic, Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), Crash Analysis, Construction, Permits, Consultant Management, Contract Management. etc., data. Create executive level reports, Dashboards to provide insight into the project data. Work with technical teams to provide optimal solution to end-users. Analyze/Modify/Enhance/fix the existing reports/charts as requested by users. – 30%
  • Plan and coordinate production system activities such as upgrades, updates, patching, and other maintenance with department users, IT team, Network Team, and Oracle Teams associated with OBIEE. Also perform the quality software code creation, code compiling and testing, version control and release management activities. – 5%
  • Work on data modeling using dimensional data modeling, star schema/snowflake schema, fact and dimension tables, physical and logical data modeling in OBIEE. – 15%
  • Communicate with different teams (Application, database, Network, Unix) internally within GDOT to understand the business process and data flow. Work closely with them to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. – 5%
  • Design and develop reporting metadata layer to support reporting initiatives and ad-hoc requests within established guidelines. Troubleshoot issues raised by users and provide timely resolutions. - 5%
  • Work with Data Base Administrators and Business Analysts towards performance tuning in OBIEE and Data Warehouse environment using cache management, aggregate tables, and indexes. - 10%
  • Perform data analysis on the reports and monitor the performance status of the same. -5%
  • Write SQL’s Test cases/apply indexes and test the BI Publisher, OBIEE Reports/Dashboards by comparing the SQL Output on the Data warehouse to the values in the Reports/Dashboards and document the test results. -10%
  • Create Oracle database views, Stored procedures, triggers, functions, packages, tables to support data for reports. -10%
  • Document, Train and Support user community on latest OBIEE software changes. – 5%

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field and related work experience.
